Heat things up this Autumn

Evenings drawing closer and weather getting colder, sound familiar to you? It does to us, unfortunately we believe that’s what you call summer ending and the dreaded Autumn closing in. However, just because the sun is becoming a distant memory doesn’t mean those fun warm evenings, accompanied by your nearest and dearest with a glass of your favourite poison, has to be too.

Whenever we talk about our favourite parts of summer here at Rightcut Tree and Garden Services, everyone seems to be in agreement-the long evenings. You know, that small pocket of time during the day where the kids, regardless of age aren,t swarming round your feet and you can sit back and reflect on the day gone by. Or if you’re feeling even more adventurous, maybe even with a bottle of vino and a barbecue in tow. So what happens when that pocket of time suddenly shrinks? When the sun rolls in faster, the clouds get darker and you’re finding yourself wanting to sit on the sofa instead of your a garden chair? Fire pits, that’s what happens.

Fire pits are a great way to extend evening time in the garden without worrying about the lack of light or heat. Fire pits create the perfect centre piece whether entertaining guests or just yourself. Fire pits help transition between the sun going down and the darkness coming in, providing a great amount of light with the majestic movements of the roaring orange flames – an attraction for all ages. Staring into the fierce, smouldering, blaze for too long may confuse you into believing you’re in a hazy sandstorm in a boiling hot dessert, because a fire pit will not only brighten up the garden, it will provide an unexpected amount of heat for those surrounding it.  Fire pits provide such a huge amount of heat that they are well known to be used as a source of warmth for groups of people, and also a cooking aid. Many fire pits come equipped with grilling shelves allowing those using it, to char your favourite sausages or burgers!

Feel like you’re missing an essential centre piece in your garden to help transition between summer and autumn? Then a fire pit may be the perfect accessory you never knew you needed.

Big Ideas for Small Gardens

By | Block Paving, Gardening, Landscaping, Small Garden, Uncategorized | No Comments

Even though property houses in Britain have rocketed, the average size of a new build three bed roomed home is four square meters smaller than Government recommended guidelines. Along with shrinking properties comes a smaller garden. As the saying goes, size isn’t everything.

Small gardens may require more thought than larger gardens, however small gardens have many advantages including only requiring low levels of maintenance. Here at Right Cut Tree and Garden Services we have some great ideas for making your small garden beautiful including design tips, planting advice and savvy buys for modern gardens, pretty patios, tiny terraces and bijou balconies.

Pave your way

Gravel, stone paving and woodchip have become popular choices of flooring for gardens offering great benefits including low levels of maintenance but upmost their low cost.

Paint your walls white

Many homeowners paint the interior walls of their home white as the colour is renowned for creating the illusion of a bigger space, so why not do the same in your garden.

Go upwards not outwards

To preserve precious space in your garden, trellises are ideal. A trellis is ideal for adding extra colour, but also for space saving. Climbing plants require little if no floor space and can provide your small garden with a beautiful focal point.

It’s all in the furniture

With minimal space to play with, folding furniture is not only space saving, but also very affordable.

Landscape your small garden

Small garden spaces can be made to look contemporary with the introduction of a mix of materials and finishes. Strong landscaped lines, wood stained decking can create a structure that’s easily manageable.

We are regularly approached here at Right Cut Tree and Garden Services by customers struggling to make the most out of their small garden spaces.
