With the Autumn Equinox on Friday 22nd September fast approaching, summer 2017 seems to have gone by in a flash. The kids are going back to school, the wetter weather is becoming more frequent and the birds are starting to travel south for the winter.

But it’s not all doom and gloom, September is a great month to start preparing your garden and plan for Autumn/Winter. Here are some September gardening tips compiled by our team here at Right Cut Tree and Garden Services.

We advise planting root balls before winter as this allows the plants to adjust to their growing environment before harsh winter weather arrives. Sewing in September allows your plants to flourish in time for next spring.

Raised beds or potted plants are also a worthy investment for your garden as they help to prevent water logging. Raised beds are a speciality of ours, with our creative input we can help you create some beautiful arrangements for your garden.

In addition to plants, September is also the time to move any trees and foliage in your garden without jeopardising their survival. Don’t forget to give your hedges a final trim to create shaping to last during the winter period.
